Dr. Curtis's research interests are focused primarily on three topics. Within Public Administration, he has published research in the areas of personnel administration, personnel law, and regulatory politics.  Other matters, such as the role that religion plays in society are also important.  After all, one of the chief joys of this job is the ability to decide for yourself what you are going to work on next.  Always in the back of his mind is the topic of criminal justice policy,which was, after all, the subject of his dissertation.
