Dr. Curtis's service to the university community includes the Administration of Criminal Justice Coordinating Committee, Political Science Department Liaison to the Smith Career Center, The Illinois Articulation Initiative's Political Science Panel, and as faculty advisor to the Mock Trial Society. In addition, Dr. Curtis is one of two pre-law advisors for the department, does academic advising in the ACJ and AEP programs, and serves on faculty committees.
Dr. Curtis's service to the larger
community includes volunteer work in the Peoria Public Schools, membership
in the Heart of Illinois Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration
(HOI-ASPA) (a two-time past president and member of the Board of Directors),
and work as a teacher in the Religious Education Program at the Peoria Universalist Unitarian Church.
