Amazon Forever

  Introduction

Industrialization and modernization have been desires of many countries over the years. They are also extremely important goals in making a state rich and competitive in the world market. The countries that succeeded in industrialization and modernization have gone on to become great world powers. They are now advanced enough to understand the environmental damage they cause while on their journey to industrialization and modernization. However, states that did not industrialize and modernize at the level of such countries like the United States still desire to. Latin American countries are one example. The industrial countries of the world seek to prevent lesser-developed countries from damaging the environment as they did when they were industrializing. However, these lesser-developed countries believe the industrialized countries are tying to deter more market competition by preventing them from taking the measures they desire for their progress. Countries, such as Brazil, become exceedingly irritated about this. Also, problems with overpopulation have forced some countries to allow rainforests to be destroyed to accommodate the ever-growing population. They do this at complete risk to the environment.

In this presentation we will give a detailed summary of this happening by using the Amazon Rainforest to illustrate that environmental damage anywhere can affect many, if not all states, directly or indirectly. We will also suggest three future scenarios for this problem.
