Research

In the last few years, Dr. Curtis's research interest has turned to the Fourth Amendment.  He has published three articles on the judicial impact of the Arizona v. Gant decision recently, with his great friend and collaborator, Mick Gizzi of Illinois State University, and has a couple of book chapters in progress on workplace privacy and the use of data from electronic devices by the police.  At the same time, he is actively looking for new and exciting topics for research.  As of the fall of 2012, he has papers in progress or under review on the issue of redistricting and the role that bureaucratic development plays in democratization.  After all, one of the chief joys of this job is the ability to decide for yourself what you are going to work on next.
