PT 335 - Paper

Overview:

Explore on specific topic related to learning by reviewing a book on the topic. Can be specifically applied to Physical Therapy or a broad conceptual review.

Organization:

A random presentation of facts is not acceptable. If you have questions, you might wish to show me an outline of your paper first.

At some point in your paper I expect you to apply what you’ve read to your profession.

• Paper topic

I will not proof your paper.

If you call the day before you are sending me a message that you’ve waited till the last minute!

APA Style

I understand that you are not all "experts" in writing in the APA style. As someone who struggles with remembering the details of APA style, I can appreciate the difficulty you face.

WARNING: Make sure you follow APA style manual 4^th edition.

In order to make your task a little more manageable, I promise to focus my grading on the following APA style points:*

EXPRESSION

The APA stylebook covers expression issues well in both the Writing Style and Grammar sections of chapter 2.

For the purposes of this paper, pay close attention to the following items in Chapter 2:

• Economy of Expression (2.03)
• Precision and Clarity (2.04)
• Verb (2.06)
• Agree of Subject and Verb (2.07)

MECHANICS

APA’s editorial style is well detailed in Chapter 3. For this assignment, I will pay close attention to:

• Levels of Headings (3.31) Note: let’s keep it simple and organized your paper is 2 or 3 levels
• Quotations of sources (3.34)
• Double or Single Quotation Marks (3.36)
• Numbers (entire section)
• Reference Citations in Text (entire section)
• Reference List (entire section)
• Manuscript Preparation (all of chapter 4 )
